Weekend

It has been a great weekend of traveling and got crazy with lots of kids around.

My sis and gang came for their vacation, all the way from Hong Kong, all 10 of them includes 4 children safely touched down on Friday evening. It took us two cars to load them all and got them to The Village Restaurant (Kampung Nelayan) in Tun Fuad Park for dinner. All 3 tables of us!

Since I was still feeling a bit sick, the food to me doesn’t really taste nice and I stop myself from taking the fried crab and tried to drink as much water as possible. The boys were having lots of fun! After dinner was their running and giggle time. So happy to see their cousins. Although they don’t share the same language but still they play together! *LOL*  They had a blast! Fortunately didn’t bump into any of the waiter with food on their hands.

After dinner was to checked them in to their hotel in Karambunai. I managed to get them an offer price room rate with see view! Had our welcoming drinks in the pub, fruit punch! Yummy! It really soothe my throat (maybe I’l have some more over lunch later).

The day after (Saturday) were their island trip which I definitely can’t go. So I’ve stayed and brought the boys for their swim class. Little Cal has been making progress. His hands and legs are coordinating now is doing frog style, just have to make more improvement on the breath taking part. As for little Mer, he is totally into it and not afraid of jumping into the water now.

Yesterday was a day filled up with lots of driving. All of us had a blast getting to the Kinabalu National Park with 4 cars! It has been a long time since my last visit to the national park. There have been much changes on the side-walk in the park, they are building walk ways and maybe resealing the road. Thank God we have a clear weather and the mountain is clearly visible.

As for little Mer, he enjoyed the company of the little sister from Hong Kong, didn’t mind at all in holding her hand and just follow her around. It is just so sweet to see sight like this.

Little Cal being so sweet being a big brother to little Roy leading him up the hill in the park.

The crazy fun gang.

After visiting the Kinabalu National Park, we headed off to my uncle’s place in Kundasang for lunch. We all had to climbed up the steep hill before reaching the house, everyone was out of breadth of the climb! *LOL*
The Hong Kong gang then proceeded to Poring Hot Spring but some of us stayed in uncle’s house for some quiet moment then headed home.

It was a fun filled day and exshuated one. The boys slept through during the journey home. With all these excitedment going on, I think I would have updated my blog right away once I got home if I have internet connection and maybe even can hide myself in the room to do that with a wireless router.

1st time visit

It is the first visit for my parents and sister to 1Borneo today. Dad has been asking about it, wondering how huge it could be, because he has been hearing about it from friends, telling him that they could get lost inside *LOL* That really rose his curiosity in wanting to visit it. Dad wasn’t so clear on exactly where is 1Borneo, all he knew is where UMS is. So when they finally getting there, he has lots of questions. Such as where is the hotel (Tune Hotel), what shop are there, do we need to pay for the parking etc. Fortunately the parking is still free “as for now until further notice”, as mentioned on the banner near the parking.

We split right after reaching there, as the boys wanted to have KFC (as promised earlier). So my parents they all have some “quiet” time away from the boys. Us? We had some good time having the “chickey meal” with two toys, which they forgot right away when the meal is finished! What a waste.

It is actually a very good place for walking exercise *LOL* but then with all those nice eating places, I don’t think anyone can loose weight or ignore the temptation there. So treadmills will still be needed. Another thing is that “Sex and the city” is showing in GSC 1Borneo! It is being rated 18PL. For those who are looking for SATC, can go there to enjoy the show!

It has been a tiring day for all of us, ‘cos we sleep like logs after that *LOL*

Shocking news

I’ve always been thinking that Singapore is a very safe place, it is like believing that the crime rate is zero over there. To me it is clean, not so hot to walk down Orchard Road, city full of greens and it is basically safe to go anywhere. But it got a shock out of me when hubby called from Singapore just now telling me he got muck last night, hit on the face and was unconscious for don’t know how long till 4am awaken by cleaner. Found himself on a foreign bus stop far away from his hotel and the last place that he visited.

After launching a police report and since he has scare on his face, the police had to put him on medical check with drip, so he has been laying in the hospital bed for an hour. The wost is he can’t remember what happened when he passed out. He has lost his cash, fortunately his credit card and ATM are still intack except one foreign bank card.

I’m not sure where he stay, even if he tells me I’ll still not sure where about is that. Just thank God that he is safe and not badly injured.

On another account, my beautician just called up reminding me about my monthly facial appointment, which by the way for this month I’ll be getting some major discount as it is my birthday month, yay! So far I don’t have any pimple on my face, but she does have some recommended acne cream for my just in case situation *wink*

Sleepness night

After a night struggling with two unwell boys, I am not sure if I did get more than 3 hours sleep. One with itchy skin and eventually wet his bed, and one with fever and specific demand on how to put on his blanket. I had to wake up several times to put on talcum powder and cream on little Cal’s skin, on top of that keep on reminding him not to use his nail to scratch. As for little Mer, I had to wake up in checking him if his fever still there, if he have sweat, if he needed water, if he is being covered properly with his blanket. On top of that I had to change Cal for he wet his bed and put his bedsheet, blanket and clothes into the washing machine as the machine take quite some times to finish one cycle and I’m afraid his blanket won’t dry in time.

So, here I am with my panda eyes bringing little Mer to see Dr. Liau in SMC. Got his professional opinion with RM50 without any prescription as he doesn’t need medication. All he needs is lots and lots of liquid, relinquish him with some salt (100plus would do that) and let him pass motion else he’ll complain to have a bloaded stomach. With RM50 I’ve bought a pieace of mind. Dr. Liau also mentioned that it is contagious, so I let him stay at home with my mom upon Mer’s request. He is jolly happy to reach home and seeing that he is sort of back to the normal self, I’m not that worry anymore. Just pray that he’ll recover fully today and start fighting again with his brother over toys.

I wish there were someone else to help me out last night, be it making the milk, checking Mer’s temperature, changing Cal’s clothes, put the clothes into the washing machine or simply just be there and support mentally and physically, I wish hubby is around… so that I can punch punch him when I’m stressed. *grin*

Lazy to clean?

It is confirmed, it is just a rumor, so no worry about no fuel for the next few days, no worry about cannot use the car to work or sending the kids *grin* In another word also meaning no excuses for not going to work *bigger grin*

About another thing, on cleaning. I’m one person who cannot stand dirt or dust in the house but then I’m also one lazy lass who try all means to clean the house. In my mom’s place, it is much easier to maintain. It is an old house, no carpet and we all wear our sandals in the house. The dogs can come in easily if the small gate is open. And guess what I do if there are food on the floor that the kids spilled. I call the dog in *LOL* Even my two boys also know how to do that, they’ll go “gobbiieeee……” (that’s how we call our dogs at home). One way they got fed, another is the floor will be cleared of food.

Well, I still remind my boys not to spill their food as this will attract ants in the house which I don’t want. But at least I’m not so worry if they really do spilled their food on the floor. Call me lazy, but if you are like me, who are lazy to do cleaning or vacuuming around the house, try Dirt Devil. It has has a better way to save energy. The new AccuCharge Stick Vac and Hand Vac use 70% less energy – making AccuCharge the first cordless cleaning technology to earn Energy Star approval. While you are cleaning, you are going green with it as it is an reduce energy consumption.

If I have a house with carpet, I’ll surely going to try this Dirt Devil.

An update and a note

Latest that I heard - “It is just a rumour”, “If they like to que, let them la..” That’s from a friend who own a petrol station here, after I called up to verify if they are going to stop selling petrol for the next 3 days. I hope he’s not pulling my legs and I’ve decided not to fill up my tank today. Well, just to avoid the jam, I’m still here in the office reading “Crafts ‘n things” magazine, which I found something very meaning that I would like to jot down and share it.

“A father is a source of strength, a teacher and a guide.
The one his family looks up to with loving trust and pride…
A father is a helper with a willing hand to lend,
A partner, and adviser, and the finest kind of friend.”
-author unknown.

oh.. another one which is nice - “Each day of our lives, we make deposits in the momory banks of our children. - Charles Swindoll”

Would really love to use these two quotes in my scrapbook layout.

Keeping up-to-date

Hmm.. have been quiet lately in updating my blog. Well, nothing much happened, other than the routine everyday. One thing I wanted to record down here is that my niece has gone to study in Adelaide, Australia in Nursing. Mix feelings from me, happy that she can finally go to further her study after her form five; sad and worried that she is all alone in a foreign country that she never been to before; another note is that nursing is not her first choice of interest.

Thank God that she has safely touched down and settling in the hostel now, even going to church today! Am glad to hear that, plus she can get online anytime when she is free as internet access is freely available in her college. One thing I hope she’ll do is to start a blog for herself so that she can have a place to keep herself updated with her friends and also keeping a record on things that is happening around her. Maybe she can start with a personalised newsletter, *LOL*.

Fly (her nickname), you can try Zookoda, it enables you to send a daily, weekly or monthly summary of your latest blog posts directly into my inbox, some more it is free! Oh well, if only you’ll start a blog today.

For those that have lots of readers, they can consider using Zookoda because it enables you to do several things all together, such as: Manage email newsletter subscribers, enhance your blog with custom newsletter subscription forms, edsign eye-catching newletters to match your blog design, schedule recurring broadcasts for each day, week or month, view real-time open, bounce, click and unsubscribe reports, and finally, access mobile users by emailing blog content in text format. Isn’t that great!

Maybe I should introduce this service to Scrap-n-crop to enhance their newsletter format, Val, what do you say? As for Fly, keep me up to date ya!?

Puppies

two puppies
Puppies are always cute and always got the heart of little kids. Thas’t what happened when my parents got two puppies from mom’s cousin in Papar on Saturday. The first thing little Cal did was giving them names, Veeper and Veechel. Don’t know from where that he got those names that we never heard of before. However my dad still prefer to call them “Wu Zhai” and “Wong Zhai” as in blackie and yellow.

playful puppy
The boys spent hours looking at them, poking and touching them when feel comfortable but a bit uneasy when they bark and jump wanting to play. The first thing little Mer ask yesterday when he woke up was “Mommy.. where are the puppies?” I was still blur at first on what he meant? I was thinking about his puppy toys. Then what made them got out of bed is the puppies, they wanted to have a look on them.

These two little puppies are just over 2 weeks old, so far so good, didn’t make much noise at night and has been drinking their milk. I have another reason now for the boys to keep their toys away from the floor - “The puppies will bite them!”

I was trying to snap a few photos of them but buoy they are hard to catch in film, they hardly stand still.
