TGIF

Thank God it is Friday and thank God that little Mer has recovered from fever and have been feeling jolly good last night. He is still a bit grumpy when I sent him to school though and I’m sure he lie about teaching scolding him, for he just want to get my attention. Lying is a natural stage for him right now as he’ll try all means to get my attention and gets what he wants. So I left him while he was still crying this morning.

As for yesterday, something amazing showed up in the sky. It was drizzling when I left my office and I was greeted by one whole rainbow! Yes, not little bit, not half, but one full rainbow! It is indeed a rare scene for me but it didn’t last long because it is late in the evening. Wish I could take a better photo but it was late and I don’t want to be out there with my umbrella and pointing my camera to the sky, some people might think I’m stressed out and getting nuts.

As for today, I’ve one challenge that I wanted to submit to Coconut ScrapShop forum, but I still left the journal part, so I’ve brought the layout together with my ink pad, journal tag and glue to the office. Hoping to do it over lunch hour, so that I can snap it and post it up later. I’ll be posting it in my other blog - “The Daily”.

At the mean time, I wanted to get another scrapbook album by American Craft, probably from Scrap-n-Crop, else my layout will be all laying inside a box again. Let’s hope that I can do all that over lunch hour when everyone will not be using the network. *grin*

I’m also trying to get some friends to join me in dong scrapbook, including this friend of mine who has bought some scrapping materials and yet didn’t start a page! Last Sunday, we went over to her place to listen to a “beauty talk” by Mary Kay’s beauty consultant. But what caught my eyes was the interiour decoration of her home. So questions of who pick all the materials came up, and she reveals that she did all the choosing part, every little things from the color of the wall to the light fixtures. However there are a few things that her hubby chose which she was complaining as they seems out of place and she doesn’t like the color. It took her quite some times to get used to them. Probably I’ll be facing this kind of problem when I do renovate my house or I might be the lazy one and let hubby do all the choosing part including budgeting. However, I’m telling myself I’ll definitely include a space for my scraproom or scrap area with good lighting and enough store area for all the papers, embellishments and albums. At the mean time I’ll just have to work in my old shaddy scraproom.

John will be leaving to Brunei

Get to know that my brother, John will be going to work in Brunei. Not a really good news to us all, although he is getting a job now with better pay, but he won’t be around and will only be coming home once a month.

We have been discussing about building our new house, now then he is going away to work, I guess that will have to wait again. *sigh*

teak wood chair How I wish we all can move in to a new house by next year, have our own beautiful garden. Yup, I’m starting to dream again. I would really love to have a patio to sit and just relax, maybe with some teak patio furniture. A place that I can spend some quiet moment reading my magazine, having my afternoon tea maybe.

Well, now that he’ll be going away (again), I’ll just have to stick to my own old furniture. *sigh*

On top of that, no surprises on what’s cooking now. John is a person who loves to cook and experience new food. Going to miss him (especially the food *grin*).

What kind of bathroom

I don’t know what you all think about bathroom, to me I know that I want a bathroom that is not wet all around. I don’t like the feel of getting into a toilet with attached bathroom which is wet. I don’t like the feel of sitting on the toilet bowl and yet my feet are wet. I just don’t like that feeling. When I shared about this with my mom, my sisters and colleague, they all prefer a dry one. But one thing for sure is, these are all coming from women’s point of view. I don’t know how a guy feels about it. Especially my brother. We almost had an argument over this.

safety tubTalking about bathroom, I’m actually afraid of using bathtub, especially those slippery ones. I’ll make sure that I stand firm or sit, or there is a rubber mat on it. What if when I grow old huh?

Do not worry, there is this walk in bathtubs available which are available in so many different sizes*LOL*  Yup, it is even good for join problem because you can install water massage system as well. So, who is afraid of getting old and not able to enjoy bath time? I’ll just get old gracefully *wink*

So much happened

So much happened over the long weekend. That include making diaper for teddy-bear by the boys, trying to get new set of chairs and table for the boys, discussing over the ideal condition of an ensuit toilet, little Mer’s fell down and scratched his cheek, breakfast with mom in Damai, aunt visit yesterday; and viewing a friend’s house to get an idea on our new house plan. Oh, and this morning hearing a news that saying tremor happened in Kalabakan!

First of all, waking up on Friday morning and seeing the boys putting on diapers for their teddies after I came back with their milk. How cute, they were playing daddy to their teddy-bear, or was it just for fun snapping on the huggies diaper which got magic tap?

On other times over the weekend, the boys especially little Cal has been busy making clay toys for himself from i-clay, but that is definitely with my help. As for little Mer, at first he was still very keen on making his airplane out from the blocks.

While we (mom, big sis, little Mer and me) were busy searching for the right set of table and chair, little Cal found himself a favourite set of bed and keep on requesting me to buy it for the new house. He loves the bed because he can climbs on it, and he specifically said that he wanted to take the upper deck.

That evening (Sunday), like usual, my sis and family came over for a visit. My two boys was playing in the field at first, but seeing that there is a car coming down from the hill, they ran towards the house, and there, little Mer fell down, face down, somemore with Cal on top of him, AWWW!! I knew that really hurts as I can hear little Mer cried (I was having my shower). After that, he refuse to put on medicine, obviously he is scared of the pain. Now he is ok with it.

As for yesterday, since it was an official holiday here (Wesak), me and big sis were happy to bring mom out for breakfast, with our two neaces. There, you’ll see the difference on littel Mer’s cheek, see that wond? Kasian huh?

On the other hand, my brother is going through the house plan, trying to figure out the perfect plan including the right facing of the house and the right size for the ensuit toilet/bathroom. *LOL* We almost had a fight about the bathroom. To him, ensuit toilet is always wet since it includes a shower area, and it shouldn’t occupied too much space. To me, it is the opposite, I would prefer my bathroom to be dry all the time except the shower area. But in order to keep the bathroom small, the shower head would almost be infront of the toilet bowl.  Still, I would prefer a little much bigger one so that I can install a cubicle there. Now, he is saying to have a 5′x6′ ensuit toilet and I’m saying to have at least a 5′x8′ toilet. However, the bottom line is, it is his house and not mine, I’m only a guess right now, and will move to our own place once hubby is back here to work.

Out and about

Today is National Scrapbook Day. It might not be an international event, but hey, who would mind. Happy Scrapbook Day!!

We have been busy body going out to view show houses yesterday in The New Platform. Not that we wanted to buy, we just want to see how is the condominium here look like, another thing is to get some inspiration for our house. The condominium still under construction and yet their show units are available on the 5th and 24th floor. The highest floor is 30th.

The cost: 2.5 million for 100 sq metres! This is a 3 rooms unit. The thing is it is near to the sea, overlooking the China custom, just next to the subway which will be ready by next year end. That’s why the price is high, huh!?

There, our little construction worker with his dad *LOL*

This is the view from the 24th floor overlooking another construction site. Behind is Shenzhen Bay. On the left of this photo is the China custom (can’t be seen).

Another construction site going on. All those empty land will be developed into high residential area.

The kitchen and dining area.

The living area.

A very contemporary design. Dad loves it and actually saying that it would be enough if our house it in that size. Dad oh dad, that would be too small for us all, especially during weekends when all the kids and grand-childrens are back. We’ll need a much bigger space, maybe at least 150 sq metres? *big grin*

We went to another one call Ocean City but was too late to view their show unit, but we have actually acquired the floor plan *grin*, so we can alter it and use it for our own house. Dad actually love the idea of having an empty space in the middle of the house so that we can have more windows in the room. Yes dad, I’ll put that into the plan later.

For those of you who are interested to build wooden house or would love to incorporate wood into your design, check out these gorgeous wood shutters.

Our old house

I’ve talked to my brother about re-building the house that we’ve been staying. It has not been materialise ever since our first talk about it years ago, grandpa was still with us at that time. He was hoping to see the new house then.  But we never did manage to build it before he passed away.

Since the house was built more than 30 years ago, the interior part of it is very simple and pretty much like a kampung (village) house. We don’t have fancy home lighting,  what we have are fluorescent lights which to us is the most suitable one at that time. I know it is way too early to talk about the decoration inside the house now when the plan isn’t even ready yet. But I just couldn’t help but dreaming how nice it could be to live in a new house with floors that we can sit on rather than now that the kids always have to have their slippers on.

This 30-over-year-old wooden house is actually being attacked by termites! I’m worried that even before we tear down the house, the termites would have help us to do that!

Misbehaving or not being understood?

Yesterday I had an unpleasant time.
Let me start from the beginning. In the morning after getting almost everything done, i.e. laundry and packing things for the kids.I was enthusiastic in going to church to meet all my friends there after all these while that I’ve been missing church service.
I was worried how the kids would behave and praying that we’ll have a great time there drawing near to God.
They were as excited as me. Getting there and seeing some of my friends were even better since there has been some times that I haven’t met most of them. And I was the early one to get there too. So I had some times saying hello to friends. Cal keep on pulling me here and there to discover the place once again (since this wasn’t the first time being in that premise). There were even an usher who thought that I were new there, so she welcomed me with a brochure, a treat that I haven’t been enjoying all this while.
The setting of the service area wasn’t that formal compare to the old church building. The place is carpeted and only few rows of chairs were available.
When the service started with singing praises. My two boys already warm up to the place and they started to run around the empty behind. In order to be able to watch over them, I moved myself to the end of the wall. Basically they were just running around with minimal noises compare to the life music that we had in there. To me it is totally fine as long as they don’t start shouting or screaming and really disturbing others like climbing up the chairs.
For some times, I just let them like that ‘cos the more I control them, the more they’ll become restless. However this welcoming-me-in-usher came over and told me to stop them from running! Em.. I can’t actually. And she even suggested me to let them run outside. But outside? Meaning I’ll have to leave the place and would it be safer to do that whereby they can just open the door and run out to the road? So I just ignore and try to control them. I was still able to jot down some notes from the speaker by his slides show.
One part where there were a few shouts let out from Mer, then there were a teenage girl with short pants (doesn’t she felt cold with the air-con?)came over and asked me if I know there is a nursery out there. Well.. maybe I have been rude and I’ve finished the sentence for her.
Till the part where my boys were really making noise, I packed up and went to check out the nursery room.
The short pants girl were out there and gave me that look sort of disapproval.
Feeling disappointed with the condition of the nursery room, with no carpet, far away from the service room, with only speakers to listen to the sermon, can’t even see the real speaker, I went off. Off to have our enjoyable time elsewhere.
At first my thought was, maybe I should just stop going there and asking myself if really my boys were noisy? Were I just a bad mom after all? I felt really terrible having someone came over to tell me there is a nursery room available and look at me in one kind. Maybe I was just being over sensitive here. I don’t know. I just felt that they are not really being understanding and not welcoming us.
I tell myself that I’ll try again next week, after all my intention is to be able to join the service again.

Enough about that. I wanna talk about some happy things. I’ve got myself a new quilt cover! Yay! From Aussino during their sales last week.
A king size quilt cover for RM45! I love the pattern.
Yay! Be Inspire!
My kids absolutely love it! Though they seldom want anything on them, not even the blanket at times, but I still have the blankets over them ‘cos IT IS cold at night, well.. not as cold at in China now. Still I love the feel of a nice beautiful quilt on me *grin*

new year decoration started..

Yesterday was a fun day for flower decoration for the boys. I had my dad to ready the dry branches for putting up fake flowers for the Chinese decoration in the house. I got the boys to help, well.. even if I don’t ask for their help, they’ll willingly come to join in the fun. Cal is the one who started it, he starts by preparing for the pot which I’ve used to do my Christmas tree too. He was stuffing newspapers in there without the brances, so I got to start getting ready the dry branches, else he’ll start nagging me about it. Fortunately dad got it dried up under the sun few days ago, so getting off the leaves and extra branches were easy. Then we “planted” it onto the pot weight down with extra stones from our front yard.
Then the fun part begin.. that is ..blooming the dry branches.. yay!
Just look at my boys, they are so engross in doing the deco, didn’t even notice that I’ve snap their photo. But then once the this one has been taken, Mer started to “interact” with me by showing me those little flowers.
Cal was the expert in putting in the flowers, Mer just join in the fun and play with those cute little flowers. Well… I hope my boys are creative themselves, and someday use their patient and creativity for their own good.
Oh ya.. and yesterday, Mer had been on his scooter almost all the time after he got it from his big brother and by the afternoon he told me: “mommy mommy.. look at me.. look at me.. I can ride already..” Not exactly that he can really ride on it for a distance, but he was so happy by his little improvement, am proud of him and also Cal for letting the younger brother in trying out the scooter.

Those cute things are actually…

Those cute little things are actually pencil sharpener.

Cute aren’t they? They are made up of wood and it is just nice to have them as decoration even if you are not using any pencil. I got it from Kids Avenue in SMC days ago. Ya.. they have a shop on the mezzanine floor, variety of stocks are just like the one in Karamunsing Kompleks but the shop is smaller. I went there to get my boys new Avent tits. And found those little cute things there.
I’ve put a photo here just to show their size.
