Wasn’t a good day

I’ve actually got an MC this morning from the doctor. I’m still feeling heavy head and bones with slight fever.

This morning was my doctor’s appointment in QE for the ENT department to check on my nose. The specialist has told me lots of things, some of which I don’t get what she meant, too many jargon. Anyway, all I know is that I need to have regular exercise, have my medicine, nostril pump and “nose wash”! She specifically reminded me not to use cold water to wash my face early in the morning and it is better to have some exercise in the morning before brushing my teeth. Mom has been telling me not to use cold water, this stubborn daughter just don’t listen! So now I’ve learnt my lesson.

I absolutely hate it when she inserted a long wire which contain a tiny camera into my nostril! Yaik! It hurts and feel really uncomfortable.

The ENT (probably stand for eye, ear and throut) is situated on the 2nd floor of the new block of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, connected right at the end of the overhead bridge from the car park. They have just moved over there a month ago. Everything seems so new, the air-con is cold, the floor is slippery, the toilet is squeky clean and there are still some renovation going on. They use peach as their color scheme which I though it is better than just the normal green or blue which normally used for hospital door panel.

There wasn’t a lot of people, infact quite few and I don’t need to wait long for my que, about half an hour. However the pharmacy is still situated at the old block at the back of the blood bank. But they do have a good system now that there wasn’t a long que for it and they all seems friendly and professional. I’m actually impressed!

After visiting the hospital, it makes me realised just how important to have a healthy body. I saw one middle age man, probably in his late 50, took one big bag of medicine supply for 2 months! It contains almost everything for diabetic, high blood pressure, cholesterol, vitamins, pain killers! Lucky me that I only need to take a 2 months supply and will need to go back there for review in two months time.

At the moment, let’s make it a habit to wash my face with warm water and do regular exercise.

Etsy bitty little birdie announcement

Yup, have just got my Etsy shop running. I’m naming it Crafty Hannie *Grin* I have also put up the icon on my side bar, do go and check it out. At the moment, I’ve only got 5 cards in the shop.

I hope to make more cards and looking forward to a good sell. Though I’m not sure on how it will turns out, but at least if I’ve got them listed, then I’ll get the answer. It cost me USD0.20 to list an item for 4 months, and 3.5% of the selling price to pay Etsy, not a bad deal. I’m keeping my finger crossed and thanking you all in advance for a good start.

On the other hand, it is almost time for me to purchase my 3 steps solution for my skin, so far I’ve been using the trial set from Karmie and it is working just fine, no acne at all. Since it is working just fine, I’m going to buy it !

1st time visit

It is the first visit for my parents and sister to 1Borneo today. Dad has been asking about it, wondering how huge it could be, because he has been hearing about it from friends, telling him that they could get lost inside *LOL* That really rose his curiosity in wanting to visit it. Dad wasn’t so clear on exactly where is 1Borneo, all he knew is where UMS is. So when they finally getting there, he has lots of questions. Such as where is the hotel (Tune Hotel), what shop are there, do we need to pay for the parking etc. Fortunately the parking is still free “as for now until further notice”, as mentioned on the banner near the parking.

We split right after reaching there, as the boys wanted to have KFC (as promised earlier). So my parents they all have some “quiet” time away from the boys. Us? We had some good time having the “chickey meal” with two toys, which they forgot right away when the meal is finished! What a waste.

It is actually a very good place for walking exercise *LOL* but then with all those nice eating places, I don’t think anyone can loose weight or ignore the temptation there. So treadmills will still be needed. Another thing is that “Sex and the city” is showing in GSC 1Borneo! It is being rated 18PL. For those who are looking for SATC, can go there to enjoy the show!

It has been a tiring day for all of us, ‘cos we sleep like logs after that *LOL*

The routine

It was a jiff last night for Mer to take his medicine!! He even going around to my sis and mom telling them how he had just swallow the first shot of the bitter medicine, reporting to them how a sweety good boy he is. I’m glad for that and this prompt me on another truth about my boy, ie. when he doesn’t want to do certain things, he’ll insists and grumpy and being resilient. so it is better to talk him into doing it rather than pressurising him.

Another problem that I’m facing almost every night is bed time. It is dreadful for me to get them into bed early, the earliest that I have was at 9:30 pm. If they are not sleeping by then, then they’ll drag on till 10:30 or even later than that! I just don’t want to face two grumpy-not-enough-sleep boys in the morning. During those time, they’ll talk, sing, play, fight if I’m not in the room and also demanding me to prepare more milk for them which I think it is way too much already.

I’ve been trying to put them into this routine before bed: brush their teeth, wash their feet, let them pee first, get them to change to pyjamas, read to them, let them have their milk, then lay beside them and hoping they’ll fall asleep fast. The hardest part is the last bit which could drag on and on for an hour! Sometimes the more I push them to sleep, the more resilient they became, but it is getting late, I need them to have their rest, else I’ll be rushing in the morning.

Would really love to have the secret recipe for them to get to bed early from any expert out there.

Glad how it turns out

It was dreadful to press Mer to take his medicine last night. It was a war!

After much persuation, he still refused to take it and that is awful lot of take, 15ml in one go! So I had to use the 5ml syringe 3 times! He cried, scream, kick and what not. It took 3 of us to get him to swallow that medicine and the last shot was mix with honey. So the remedy of having honey on his mouth before taking the medicine doesn’t really work. After he had the taste of honey, he ran off!

So, after the medicine war, I had to get him change his clothes, wipe his face, tears and mucus. It turns out that Cal is a better medicine taker, brave boy! I know that his is even bitter than Mer’s medicine, but as a big brother, he gulp it down with water and before that was some honey for him, then raisin after that.
Little Mer was totally fine when getting home, running, jumping and like usual fighting for toys with his brother! This morning he woke up with high spirit and chase me to go faster in getting to school! Buoy, am I glad that he is back to his normal self now, the noisy whining Mer *LOL*

Last night , Cal welcome me home with his “communication booklet”. It is all with “excellent” and “good” remarks except with word underline: 牙刷 (tooth-brush) and 衣 (cloth). Those are the words that he can’t recognised. Other than that, he is fine.

Next week, they are going to have a sport day and I presume I’m going to take some time off to attend it. Mer also keep on reminding me to bring him along to watch his big brother in action. Cal keep on showing me what he is going to play during the sport day and keep on explaining to me how does the game works. We’ll see for real.

Lawyer “buruk”

We always nick name Cal as lawyer buruk as he always has lots of reasoning to do whenever we question him on what is he doing or what was he trying to do with his little brother. He is one curious little kid that have hight observation power and fine motor skill. He is always in the look out for new things, new adventure and some times do things that we don’t allow such as playing with the bail of water outside that my parents use to wash the vegetable for sell. Other time he play Ultraman mimic game with the little brother with his side-kick and punches!
When we get down to ask him what is he doing, he’ll goes like “We are just playing.” or “I’m Ultraman, Ultraman can do …” Other time when there are things that he is not allow to touch, he’ll goes like “Mommy, can you please open this and let me see? I just want to see.”
Well, will all his reasoning skill, some times it is funny to look at how he react on certain thing and certain people especially my dad, as Cal is afraid of my dad more than anyone else in the house. Maybe one day he is really going to be a lawyer, who knows he can get involve and get a job as truck accident lawyer. We’ll never know what could happen.

Life got shorten

Give me one sick kid and my life will be shorten for at least a year. Give me one that is grumpy with fever, I will definitely woke up with panda eyes. Yes, little Mer is sick with fever and he prefer to have sweet syrup rather than the tablet or Chinese medicine, give him those and he’ll surely spit them out no matter how hard we press him to swallow them.

This morning I brought him to see Chinese doctor in Luyang, as expected the doctor warned about bitter medicine. However she gave me one remedy so that little kid can take the medicine in more ease. “Just rub on some honey on their mouth before giving them the medicine and they’ll be ok.” I bet Mer will remember that remedy and ask for it even when he doesn’t need to take any medicine.

The doctor also warned that I don’t give him any seasonal local fruits like rambutan, longan, mango and especially durian. Lychee is another one since it is the season now which daddy brought back days ago. Little kids stomach cannot diguest them properly and they are consider “heaty” for the body. She also said that not to let him take egg, poultry, crackers and any spicy or fried food. She kept on reminding little Mer to “Drink lots of water!”

He is one sweet little boy when the doctor told him to drink more water and take his medicine, he just nod with pitiful eyes. With the Coxsackie cases in West Malaysia, it is dreadful to know if Mer has got it, fortunately the doctor confirm that he is free of that and we’ll just have to be careful and take this seriously, making sure that he washes his hands frequently and drinks lots of water.

Sick little MerSeeing here is little Mer laying there quietly last night on the sofa (so kesian huh). It was a quiet night last night and I can even watch “Desperate housewife” in a roll for the first time! How nice if I can have a home theater seating that I can relax on. After that, I have to read two stories for sweet little Cal for waiting for mommy the whole night without attending to him. While I was watching TV and checking little Mer, he flip through the story book to look for one short story with interesting picture. We are now going through the “365 bed time stories” which he always insisted in reading every night before bed. A very good practice, but there are times that I was too tired and now I realise that no matter how I say no to him, he’ll keep on bugging me and whine and refuse to sleep. So I’ve given up for not reading to him.

As for hubby, he has responded in the comment area of the previous post telling the whole story of what had happened in Singapore lately. Am glad that he is fine and got himself a new handphone.

Shocking news

I’ve always been thinking that Singapore is a very safe place, it is like believing that the crime rate is zero over there. To me it is clean, not so hot to walk down Orchard Road, city full of greens and it is basically safe to go anywhere. But it got a shock out of me when hubby called from Singapore just now telling me he got muck last night, hit on the face and was unconscious for don’t know how long till 4am awaken by cleaner. Found himself on a foreign bus stop far away from his hotel and the last place that he visited.

After launching a police report and since he has scare on his face, the police had to put him on medical check with drip, so he has been laying in the hospital bed for an hour. The wost is he can’t remember what happened when he passed out. He has lost his cash, fortunately his credit card and ATM are still intack except one foreign bank card.

I’m not sure where he stay, even if he tells me I’ll still not sure where about is that. Just thank God that he is safe and not badly injured.

On another account, my beautician just called up reminding me about my monthly facial appointment, which by the way for this month I’ll be getting some major discount as it is my birthday month, yay! So far I don’t have any pimple on my face, but she does have some recommended acne cream for my just in case situation *wink*

What happened

I’ve been down with a cold, it is completed with slight fever, blocked nose, and a sore throat! I felt so lame on Monday morning that I had to get myself MC from the local clinic. Hubby sent me off after sending little Cal to school, but had to leave to send little Mer to school. So I was being left alone in the clinic waiting in line for my turn. It wasn’t a long wait since I get to notice so many different kind of people there with kids, old folks, local, foreign, young and old. There were so much happening around me, but I was too tired and lame to be cheerful.

After seeing the medical assistance, getting my medication and my MC, I’ve requested to refer to specialist on my cynus. In order to do so, I need to see the doctor first. Which he was kindly enough to examine my nose telling me that they are swollen and maybe due to allergy reaction but I need to get back some other day to get the appointment letter referring me to a specialist in QE. Ok, great, at least I’ve go the letter even on the next day but the date crush with my trip to China, bummer! So will need to arrange for a new appointment later.

Alright, enough of that, at least now I’m feeling much better thought I’m still in my anti-biotic medication.
Today is little Mer’s birthday, he is 3 today! Ha, how time flies, he was still a little baby yesterday. Since hubby is leaving early today, so we’ve celebrated his birthday with steamboat and a little cake from Consfood, blueberry sponge cake, he loves it! He loves blueberry anyway, so I suppose anything with blueberry on, he’ll ask for more. So hubby got a 1/2 kg blueberry sponge cake for RM28, not bad huh!?

We adult had our steamboat while the kids were enjoying their new train set with tracks and TV, i.e Thomas & friends and Ultraman. They only get to enjoy some of the final product of the steamboat of course. However, little Mer prefer plain rice with ketchup!

As for little Cal, he reserve his stomach for the cake and kept on coming into the kitchen to ask for the cake when we were not even done with our dinner.

3 boys and a cake

Happy little boy he was during the candle blowing and cake cutting part. He took 2 slices! But this morning wake up grumpy ‘cos he sleeps late, 11pm! Last I heard from him was singing “Negaraku” in his own relics.

As for hubby, he has gone over to Singapore for meetings, then will be back to China after two days trip there. Starting to miss him already. *sob sob*

Sunday morning

We went to The Hut in City Mall to have our lunch after church this morning. It was like 11:30am. Have order spaghetti carbonara, potato wedges, T-bone steak, set lunch and two more pieces of garlic bread after Little Cal finished the garlic bread from the set lunch, dunking into the mushroom soup. He loves that!

little cal

As for ice-cream, it was his treat for being a good boy finishing up his little plate of spaghetti.

little mer sleeping

Half way eating, Little Mer push aside all his plates, utensils and food, then just started to sleep. Then we get to enjoyed some quiet time and hubby tried to make some silly move while I took their photo.

hubby with cal

After that was a stroll in City Mall trying to check out the kids shop over there and process these photos for my scrapbook. That’s about it.. a quite not unusual morning of Sunday spent with family. I hope we have more of this sort of time. Oh ya.. one more thing, some sales girl chase after hubby wanting to give him a slimming leaflet about their machine.. *LOL*
