My hair and the boys

Yay, I’ve got positive remarks about my new hair..hehe.. so happy. But let me share with you what little Cal said when I ask him what he thinks about mommy’s hair, “Beautiful! I like this more than the previous one.” “But Ah Mah said not nice leh..” “Ah Mah doesn’t know how to see.” “What about Ah Mah’s hair, nice? ” “Not so nice..” *LOL*

Well, above all else, I’m happy with my new straight hair, not like I haven’t have straight hair before, but after quite sometimes in curly locks, I look forward to my straight hair. At least I don’t need to worry if they are in place, if they are fluffy or fuzzy in the morning, or having a bad hair day. I just let my hair down. *wink*

As for this morning, little Mer got fever again and this time I’ve got the syrup ready. Thus after a few hours taking the medicine, his shirt is all wet from sweating and then he turns better, still he whine about not wanting to get to school, but I bet he is jolly happy and enjoying his company right after I left.

I left the two brothers in Sunday School yesterday and got myself a comfortable seat in the main church listening to sermon while worrying if they were ok there. It turns out that they follow instruction and join in the fun while I was away, they even said that they wanted to go back again. Probably it is a Chinese medium Sunday School that they are able to understand all the instructions. Well, I’m glad and looking forward to next Sunday.

This morning little Cal got some rashes on his skin probably due to sensitive skin and mom is saying to bath him with traditional herbs later after school. I hope he is getting right after that, but I’ll need to start him with the yogurt pill again to make sure that he is growing with healthy smooth skin.

There, below is little Mer with his special made “hat” from belloon which little Cal altered from a sword that the swim coach made, he is holding his creation - a plane.

yes.. we got an old refrigerator..

As for the one below, little Cal with his thumb’s up on the macroroni that I’ve made for them, they finished the first portion and asked for more which I happily prepared again.
thumb's up
This is after we got back from our in-law’s and yet still feeling hungry. *wink*

Convenient hair style

Let me get this out of my chess first, I’ve straighten my hair!! Ya, I’ve been having curly locks for ages and just felt bored with it for I’ve to put on liquid gel after every wash and do a bit of curling with my fingers so that they all stay put, else I’ll have fuzzy-flying-lion-head style of hair.

So far I receive mix comment about my hair, well, actually 3 responds.

My mom:”Why waste the money? I can use that to eat lots of things.” (Ya, but you’ve plenty to eat now, not like you are starving.”

Hubby:”Your hair look weird.” (But you said you like straight hair before!”

Mom-in-law:”Where got nice, doesn’t look nice at all.” (This is the worst so far and I don’t like her comment on what-so-ever, further more I didn’t even ask.)

Okay, the truth is I kind of prefer my curly locks, but who ask me to get bored with them and wanted a change and straight hair is just so convenient, less the hair gel, less the effort to make them curl, so less the time spend on them.

My stylist told me one facts about women when she was doing my hair, that is “Women’s money is so easy to earn. They get bored with straight hairs, they curl them. And do the other way round when got bored with straight hair. What more we spent tons of money on our face, clothes and bags!” So true huh!

Probably some other people will spend on other things like pet food and things for pet such as pet furniture? Never heard of that? Try this cat tree.

At the mean time, let me just enjoy my conveniently set straight hair and going out-station without my liquid gel.

TGIF

Thank God it is Friday and thank God that little Mer has recovered from fever and have been feeling jolly good last night. He is still a bit grumpy when I sent him to school though and I’m sure he lie about teaching scolding him, for he just want to get my attention. Lying is a natural stage for him right now as he’ll try all means to get my attention and gets what he wants. So I left him while he was still crying this morning.

As for yesterday, something amazing showed up in the sky. It was drizzling when I left my office and I was greeted by one whole rainbow! Yes, not little bit, not half, but one full rainbow! It is indeed a rare scene for me but it didn’t last long because it is late in the evening. Wish I could take a better photo but it was late and I don’t want to be out there with my umbrella and pointing my camera to the sky, some people might think I’m stressed out and getting nuts.
full rainbow

As for today, I’ve one challenge that I wanted to submit to Coconut ScrapShop forum, but I still left the journal part, so I’ve brought the layout together with my ink pad, journal tag and glue to the office. Hoping to do it over lunch hour, so that I can snap it and post it up later. I’ll be posting it in my other blog - “The Daily”.

At the mean time, I wanted to get another scrapbook album by American Craft, probably from Scrap-n-Crop, else my layout will be all laying inside a box again. Let’s hope that I can do all that over lunch hour when everyone will not be using the network. *grin*

I’m also trying to get some friends to join me in dong scrapbook, including this friend of mine who has bought some scrapping materials and yet didn’t start a page! Last Sunday, we went over to her place to listen to a “beauty talk” by Mary Kay’s beauty consultant. But what caught my eyes was the interiour decoration of her home. So questions of who pick all the materials came up, and she reveals that she did all the choosing part, every little things from the color of the wall to the light fixtures. However there are a few things that her hubby chose which she was complaining as they seems out of place and she doesn’t like the color. It took her quite some times to get used to them. Probably I’ll be facing this kind of problem when I do renovate my house or I might be the lazy one and let hubby do all the choosing part including budgeting. However, I’m telling myself I’ll definitely include a space for my scraproom or scrap area with good lighting and enough store area for all the papers, embellishments and albums. At the mean time I’ll just have to work in my old shaddy scraproom.

The boys progress

Little Mer got fever early this morning. First measure of temperature was 37.3c, but after several times of measurement, it becomes 38.3c! I wonder if there is something wrong with the themometer. I kept on feeling his forehead and neck after that and I’ve run out of fever syrup. Oh dear! Fortunately I still have one last chinese medicine for fever which he spitted out part of it.

First thing came into my mind wasn’t to look for a doctor but where to get the fever medicine. I’ve thought of 7-eleven. But they don’t sell medicine, do they? While thinking on what to do, I lay down beside him and feeling his forehead and fell asleep! (Terrible mom!).

Then the first thing in the morning was to persuit him to follow me out, ‘cos I’m going to leave him with the babysitter while getting him fresh bottle of fever syrup. Mom won’t be able to get him to take his medicine and mom would be busy over little Cal after he has gone back from school, so babysitter’s place is the best place. However little Mer kept on insisting us to get to church, he prefer going to church over school and babysitter. In order to convince him that no one is in church and that we had no choice but to go to the babysitter, I brought him to church which is nearby his school. After seeing that the church is empty and after much persuation from me telling him that babysitter would take good care of him, then only he is willing to get in the car without much whining. Still, he requested me to send him to school own by the church ‘cos he can see those little children in uniform there, just like ko-koh (little Cal).

When we past by his school, he still reminds me of not sending him to school. But he was always smiling and jolly when I fetch him from school, I wonder if that is just to show his seperation anxiety with me. Another thing is they were so happy to see me last night after I came home from having late meeting last night. Both of them waited for me to get home and I had to chase after Cal to finish his homework before getting to bed at 11pm!!

Well, I’m sure I’m having panda eyes today and am not going to do any scrapbook tonight, I better get some sleep and hopefully Mer is fully recovered now.

Craft time for the boys

The boys were thrill for being able to create cards for their daddy by using almost all tools and materials from my scrap. I’ve ready some scrap and white cardstocks whereby the white cardstocks are just normal paper which are not archival safe. Get them sat down in my scraproom, tell them before hand that we are going to make cards for daddy but they’ll have to listen to my instructions. Which normally they surely goes overboard in creating for they just love to use all my tools, especially the clear stamps.

Since brads will rust on my layout, so I let them play with it and they love it, especially love to punch holes on the flowers or paper then insert the brads in.

cards for daddy

Little Cal being so sentimental wanted to write so much in his card telling daddy that he misses him, he wanted him to get home very soon, he made card for him with flower and he’ll make more card later for mommy! So sweet, but I have to limit his words and hold his hand to write what he wanted.

As for little Mer, he is simpler, just write his name.

writing

Yes, I finally managed to guide the boys in creating two cards for their daddy and got them sent over to him in China. (Daddy, you should be able to get these cards in your mail, look out for them ya..)

As for the following night, I let them play with the scrap again, this time with more warning on not to mess around with my stamp pad. This time they play more on the clear stamp and sad to say I’ve lost one tiny leaf shape clear stamp *sigh*

cards for mommy

But looking at their creation, that tiny leaf stamp is nothing compare to the joy that they have while making those cards.

card interior

I bet they are going to ask for more craft session.

Lazy to clean?

It is confirmed, it is just a rumor, so no worry about no fuel for the next few days, no worry about cannot use the car to work or sending the kids *grin* In another word also meaning no excuses for not going to work *bigger grin*

About another thing, on cleaning. I’m one person who cannot stand dirt or dust in the house but then I’m also one lazy lass who try all means to clean the house. In my mom’s place, it is much easier to maintain. It is an old house, no carpet and we all wear our sandals in the house. The dogs can come in easily if the small gate is open. And guess what I do if there are food on the floor that the kids spilled. I call the dog in *LOL* Even my two boys also know how to do that, they’ll go “gobbiieeee……” (that’s how we call our dogs at home). One way they got fed, another is the floor will be cleared of food.

Well, I still remind my boys not to spill their food as this will attract ants in the house which I don’t want. But at least I’m not so worry if they really do spilled their food on the floor. Call me lazy, but if you are like me, who are lazy to do cleaning or vacuuming around the house, try Dirt Devil. It has has a better way to save energy. The new AccuCharge Stick Vac and Hand Vac use 70% less energy – making AccuCharge the first cordless cleaning technology to earn Energy Star approval. While you are cleaning, you are going green with it as it is an reduce energy consumption.

If I have a house with carpet, I’ll surely going to try this Dirt Devil.

An update and a note

Latest that I heard - “It is just a rumour”, “If they like to que, let them la..” That’s from a friend who own a petrol station here, after I called up to verify if they are going to stop selling petrol for the next 3 days. I hope he’s not pulling my legs and I’ve decided not to fill up my tank today. Well, just to avoid the jam, I’m still here in the office reading “Crafts ‘n things” magazine, which I found something very meaning that I would like to jot down and share it.

“A father is a source of strength, a teacher and a guide.
The one his family looks up to with loving trust and pride…
A father is a helper with a willing hand to lend,
A partner, and adviser, and the finest kind of friend.”
-author unknown.

oh.. another one which is nice - “Each day of our lives, we make deposits in the momory banks of our children. - Charles Swindoll”

Would really love to use these two quotes in my scrapbook layout.

Fuel hike and now..

I can’t believe what I’ve just heard, they are going to boycott?!!?

Am not sure how true is this, but I’ve just got a call from my sister telling me this, the petrol stations are going to have a strike/boycott in selling their petrol, not sure when starting, but there are already got cars queuing in front of the petrol stations to get their fuel pumped!

The first thing came up to my mind is.. how are we going to work without petrol? How to send the boys to school without the car? Our area is impossible to take the bus, even that also the bus will run out of petrol pretty soon.

Just now, Berita Harian already got this in their site: “Urus niaga beli minyak guna kad kredit dihenti“. It is already hard for me not to use my credit card in the petrol station, and now boycott some more? OMG! Well, just wait and see what will happen.

Helen

Helen is the cousin of my hubby and has been a good friend of ours, plus she is our insurance agent from Great Eastern. She has been reminding me about my insurance policy on ladycare which I bought last year and this is a term insurance which I need to renew every year and it doesn’t have a cash return. I’ve already told her that I don’t want to renew it this year, and yet she still sms me and reminded me that it is expiring on 27th June, which is so kind of her to do that and even offered to pay for me first, then of course I’ll need to transfer money into her account. That is just a way of saving time and hassle.

Well, since I’ve already got life insurance on hand, so I’ve decided not to continue with this term insurance. I’m sure there are other term life insurance available, but I’m not going to add up the weight of my wallet just as yet, seeing that the fuel price has increased and so does other daily things like rice and my boys’ milk formula. Maybe next year this time, Helen will call again, till then I’ll decide.

Keeping up-to-date

Hmm.. have been quiet lately in updating my blog. Well, nothing much happened, other than the routine everyday. One thing I wanted to record down here is that my niece has gone to study in Adelaide, Australia in Nursing. Mix feelings from me, happy that she can finally go to further her study after her form five; sad and worried that she is all alone in a foreign country that she never been to before; another note is that nursing is not her first choice of interest.

Thank God that she has safely touched down and settling in the hostel now, even going to church today! Am glad to hear that, plus she can get online anytime when she is free as internet access is freely available in her college. One thing I hope she’ll do is to start a blog for herself so that she can have a place to keep herself updated with her friends and also keeping a record on things that is happening around her. Maybe she can start with a personalised newsletter, *LOL*.

Fly (her nickname), you can try Zookoda, it enables you to send a daily, weekly or monthly summary of your latest blog posts directly into my inbox, some more it is free! Oh well, if only you’ll start a blog today.

For those that have lots of readers, they can consider using Zookoda because it enables you to do several things all together, such as: Manage email newsletter subscribers, enhance your blog with custom newsletter subscription forms, edsign eye-catching newletters to match your blog design, schedule recurring broadcasts for each day, week or month, view real-time open, bounce, click and unsubscribe reports, and finally, access mobile users by emailing blog content in text format. Isn’t that great!

Maybe I should introduce this service to Scrap-n-crop to enhance their newsletter format, Val, what do you say? As for Fly, keep me up to date ya!?
