Do you have the look?

I like watching “American Next Top Model”, it gives me a sight of what really modeling is about, plus all those bitchiness they have in a reality show. It also explains what are the things that you need to know as a model, most importantly it looks real to me. If I’m 5′8″ and have sharp features with the right figure, maybe I would go for it.

Look at our local girl Amber Chia, she is from Sabah and yet made it to the modeling world, must be earning big bucks. However nothing comes easily and I’m sure she needs to work, learn and relearn new things everyday.

Another show that I love to watch is “Kimora: life in the fab lane”. Yes, this is one working mom cum model cum owner of jewelery stores! Seeing how she lives and how funny she can be is fun to me. I’m not sure, maybe part of the show is made up, but I’m seeing it as an entertainment rather than an educational documentary. I’m a mother myself, so sometimes I dream that I can be that glamorous and living a life that I can almost have it all.

For those of you who doesn’t mind having your look being judged and wanted to step into the modeling world, you can join Look of the year, which is now looking for people around the world to submit their best pictures. As long as you are young, beautiful and who would like to be a model, I don’t see why you should loose the chance to get spotted and maybe able to work in a renounce modeling agency. It looks like a beuty contest though, I hope they are looking for brains and beauty.

Development of Cal’s feelings

First thing when Cal woke up this morning is to ask where will his little brother be today. After hearing that I’ll bring little Mer to the babysitter, he straight jumped on his feet and run to the car, sat there till I say that he can follow.

I suppose Cal knows of the feelings of loneliness now that he wanted to stay with his brother no matter what and no matter where. After a day at home with his brother, I think he likes it and wanted to stick to each other. It is a good news to me ‘cos he wanted to be with the brother but after a long day at home with my two boys, my mom was exshauted and worst is she didn’t catch any sleep. So today I’m letting the idea off and have sent little Mer to babysitter’s place.

After much persuation and bribe with goodies, finally Cal agree to stay at home with my parents. Fortunately there wasn’t much whining from Mer on the way to babysitter.

This is where we stayed - Seafest Hotel.

View from the hotel front.

Sunset taken from the hotel.

The day after, I was caught up with meeting, so didn’t go anywhere, but I managed to visit the local pearl store.

This is where we go to get our pearl.

See all those glittering stuff? Sorry, it was getting dark then..

Did I get anything for myself? Of course! A pearl bracelet and earrings. *Grin*

We get to visit Sipadan Island the day after. More photos..

Time

Cal is coming to five soon but he still doesn’t know how to tell the time on the clock. Maybe I’m one lazy mom who didn’t teach him right about reading the time.

Last night, just out of curiosity and fun he wanted to set the alarm clock for this morning. I was having a hard time asking him what time you want the alarm to go off, because he doesn’t have a clue on what I was telling him. All he knew is he wanted to wake up before I leave for work so that he can say goodbye to me. (How sweet)

I know eventually he’ll learn how to read the time and he’ll have his own watch, which then will be an important tool for him. Maybe one day he can have something like a Blancpain. However, at the mean time, all he needs to know is when to wake up, eat, play and sleep. While he is familiarising himself on that, I’ll teach him to value time which is more important than getting any expensive watch.

Unusual behaviour

Guess what happened this morning on my two boys?

My two forever-fighting-and-always-not-in-good-term-boys wanted to stay home with their grandparents and most importantly with their brother!? This is one true happy morning for me seeing them hugging each other and promising that they won’t fight.

Little Cal basically blocked my way in getting into the driver seat while little Mer trying to get out from the car, he eventually made his way out with the help of his big brother. Yup, working together so that they can both stay home.

My plan was to send little Mer to the babysitter ‘cos that they always fight and that would be difficult for my mom to stop them and having to look after them every minute.

When I wanted to leave for work, “Mommy is leaving going oh.. you (Mer) don’t want to come?”
“Go! You go alone!”
That’s what Mer replied.*LOL*

Yes, how nice.. then these two brothers keep on promising me that they will not fight. Little Mer even hug and smiling to his brother, so cute. Later Cal started to tell Merthat he needs to take shower ah.. need to sleep ah like that.. sounds like a big brother already.

I thought to myself, ok, it is school holidays now.. why not loosen abit.. just let them la.. stay at home.. it is still better than babysitter’s place, some more in my mom’s place, they got lots to explore and experience rather than just staying in the house. I grew up there and I love my childhood *Big Grin*

Maybe my boys are really growing, and maybe the days that they can be in good term are here. When I call home just now, they really are not fighting but I’m not expecting too high, the day is still early.

Maybe distance do make the hearts grown fonder for my two boys.

My health condition

Just had my blood pressure measure with a self-help machine, small and handy, just need two AAA batteries. The result? 113/69. As for weight, I’m 56 kg. I thought I have loose some weight after the trip, but I stay the same *grin*.

56kg to me is still a little big lighter than I want, I should be 58 kg to look a bit chubby. As for now, I don’t need these diet pills reviews . It is good for those who needed a diet though. To me, I’ll go for exercise and maintain a good diet rather than going for the pill. Maybe the diet pills are for those who are obese and really  hard to get rid of their fat.

My heart beat is no so ideal, is it higher than 75 which indicating that I’m having a weak heart, really need to start doing those brisk walk.

John will be leaving to Brunei

Get to know that my brother, John will be going to work in Brunei. Not a really good news to us all, although he is getting a job now with better pay, but he won’t be around and will only be coming home once a month.

We have been discussing about building our new house, now then he is going away to work, I guess that will have to wait again. *sigh*

teak wood chair How I wish we all can move in to a new house by next year, have our own beautiful garden. Yup, I’m starting to dream again. I would really love to have a patio to sit and just relax, maybe with some teak patio furniture. A place that I can spend some quiet moment reading my magazine, having my afternoon tea maybe.

Well, now that he’ll be going away (again), I’ll just have to stick to my own old furniture. *sigh*

On top of that, no surprises on what’s cooking now. John is a person who loves to cook and experience new food. Going to miss him (especially the food *grin*).

Back from Semporna

Am back home now after an half hour delay on our plan from Tawau, thank God that we have good weather that we have a smooth flight experience and landing. One thing that made my trip incomplete is a swim or snorkeling session in Sipadan Island.

We took a two v6 engines boat in a 45 minutes ride from Semporna to Sipadan Island. Still can’t show any photo at the moment, need some time to load and edit them (will do a photo blog later), but the truth is I don’t have pretty pictures of the island. Probably have too much expectation on the island and thought that I also can take like the pro. The island itself has nothing much to offer if you are only going for a stroll. It took us about an hour to round the island, of course with some stop over for photo session. We managed to see baby sea turtles just born at 6am yesterday! That was one great experience for us all.

Other than seeing little sea turtles, we managed to catch some glimpse of big sea turtles on the sea shore. According to the guide, it is their mating season now. Some even raising their head to take some breath or view of all these strangers looking at them.

On our way back, we managed to pass by Kapalai Resort and Mabul Island, another two beautiful places to stay. Divers can’t stay in Sipadan Island, only armies are allow there for security reason and conservation purposes.

Going there without a swim or snorkeling is a definite loss for us all, but time do not allow us to do so as we need to catch our flight from Tawau at 9:45 pm after another tour to other places. Would definitely go back for snorkeling if I can. It has to be snorkel only because I can’t dive and are not fit enough to even getting the license, too bad.
