Gone out and got nothing for myself

Just like any other women would felt when hubby disagree for a walk after dinner, I think I got grumpy and talked him into it, well.. not really talking him into it, it is more like making him in agreeing to go out for a walk. I just wanted to go and have a look around the block during night time and when there is another extra pair of hands to carry little Mer just in case he needs to be carried, plus another person that the boys can whine to instead of just me. So we did went out for a walk and somehow I managed to get some shirts and pants for the boys and their cousins, yippie..

Just like what Nonniewould do, I would normally go into cold war with hubby if he doesn’t agree with me on certain thing, and as for being reasonable, oh well.. that is just not me. Being too reasonable would be a torture for myself later. Same goes to being too considerate. Just like just now, I was being considerate for not stopping to look at clothes that caught my eyes, instead I keep on walking. So I ended up getting home without getting a single thing for myself and instead hubby said: “Why didn’t you stop us? ST****” What the heck, hey, if you are nice enough, you would have asked if I wanted to stop, right? But instead he were mile away and showing his sour face.

Anyway, as expected also la.. can’t buy things when shopping with men, especially nice clothes, oh and especially with my hubby.

Misplaced page

No wonder Jewelle is confused on where I am now. This page that I wrote earlier went into the wrong folder. This should come before “Dad’s comment”

Just like Dena, I’m also lost of words now. I’ve came here (China) since Saturday night taking the night train from Hong Kong, then took the bus to the border, then cross over, came in by my single entry VISA. (The China government is being strick now with the Olympic approaching.)

I was in shock when hubby told me not to try loading photo from the camera ‘cos the PC got virus!! That practically stop me from sharing what I’ve seen and done over here! Oh well, not like I haven’t been to this situation before, but still I just lost the interest to blog without any photo. *sigh*

Other than no photo, I was also run out of time to blog. Have been busy with the boys and also bring my dad out to look see around. Another thing is, I don’t have a pram over here, so carrying sleeping Mer is really a tough job to do while shopping and being a guide. By the time I got home, I was already too tired and yearn for my afternoon nap with the boys. They have to sleep with me, else no sleep for me.

Today, we plan to go to Sea World, got to go now before little Mer fall asleep again.

Dad’s comments

“People here can just simply pee anywhere, is it? Else how come there is no public toilet around here?”

That’s what dad said after we get to know that people had been directing us to use the toilet in McDonald! McD? Ya, but that is not a public toilet, even though we sometimes do treated it as one, isn’t it?

Then dad continued “No wonder why the flowers here look so healthy.”

Yup, that is my witty dad, making fun out of everything that he faces. When we ask if we can use the toilet in one of the restaurant in Sea World, the waitress said “Oh, toilet here is not for outsider, you can go to McDonald.”  Ya, but what if emergency? There is no public toilet to be seen in the shopping lot near to the beach too. Goodness, don’t these people go to toilet?

“In case of emergency, I think they’ll have poo in their pants!” Dad said.

Fortunately we got to use the toilet in Papa John’s. Still, the waitress look at us in one kind, oh what the heck, let’s get into the toilet first.

Don’t have one

I’m still using my brother-in-law’s laptop. Ask me what is the memory status, I’ll look at you blank. Ask me again if it needs an upgrade, again, I’ll look at you blank. Yes, that’s me. I just know how to get it connected to the Net with broadband line available here. Oh ya, another thing I know is to edit my photos online. Well, I’m not the online one, when I ask if there is any photo editing software available in the laptop, my sister would look at me blank. *LOL*

There is actually a site offering to check laptop memory and let you know what upgrade is needed for your laptop. Well, it is not applicable for me now, maybe you all can have a look. They accept paypal as well, which to me is my main concern now since I’ve a paypal account, which will be much more convenient and secure. However, I’ll have to wait till I have my own laptop to enjoy this service.

Out for a walk

Been there before but I went there again, this time with different purpose - to show dad how does it look like, rather than having him stay at home staring at the TV and had most of the time doing the reverse.

We went to Avenue of Stars last year and I went back again today. This time have lots of photo opportunity and with clearity but the air is not very clear today. We got off in Tsim Sha Tsui’s station and got the Olympic mascots - Fuwa, welcomed us in different posing for the many games in the Olympic.

We saw even more of them on a stage nearby

Fortunately with the wide angle digital camera, I can stand near to the stage and took this photo. Before us were a mother with daughter who keep on telling her daughter that she can’t get all 5 mascot in the picture *wink*

Ngong Ping - Giant Buddha

Went to Ngong Ping on 23rd April. It was drizzling and we’ve expected a cooler day but didn’t expect it to be windy and foggy when we reach the Giant Buddha.

We started off our journey by taking the Tung Chung line to get to Ngong Ping cable car station.

Drizzling at first, thus got water drops on my cable car windows, then it got foggy and we seems to be hanging no where on the sky.

The start of our cable car journey, looks a bit scary if you are afraid of height.

This is all we can see from our cable car.

The Peak

Went there on 22nd morning, had a long walked with some mis-turn and had used the long way instead of the right exit right from Hong Kong station. Fortunately I’ve got the pram with me, so that little Mer can be on it most of the time. This is what he saw on some part when going up escalator.

Mer’s eye view

After asking for direction several times from passersby, security guard and police, we finally past by St. John’s Cathedral along the way and got ourselves to The Peak Tram station.

So considerate of them

On our way home from visiting my dad’s village, we stop by “Tai Wo” again, this time was to take our lunch. Sorry.. didn’t manage to take anything before the food are all gone - taken by all the hungry home town seeker.

What I did manage to snap is the look of the toilet, because it is just so cute. It has sink and toilet bowl just for kids! Buoy am I so glad to see that, even little Mer also noticed and so happy to use it without any help from me.

Isn’t it nice if all the toilet in town have this facility just to cater for our little users? I don’t need to carry little Mer up to reach for the sink and he can stand right in front of the toilet bowl without straining his feet.

Guess what happened the next time I brought him to toilet? He went to look for the same kind of kids toilet again. *grin*

Aren’t the developer so considerate and have thought about our little kids when they are building the toilet? Another thing came into my mind about being considerate is to help those in trouble. We might not be hearing so much in Malaysia for drug addicts as compare to the Hollywood. They seriously have to get themselves into addiction treatment if they do. Be considerate for others and for themselves too. I’m sure their love ones won’t like to see them in drugs.

Dad’s hometown

Dad’s hometown actually is in “Tai Wo”. We have got a map from my uncle stating that we need to get to “Chai Kek”. Thus we took a taxi after the MTR ride.

We weren’t sure if we have pronounce the name of the destination right, but after enquired about it from the taxi driver, he also not sure and he said he can’t find the word in the Chinese dictionary.  “Kek” is actually a Hakka pronounced word.

After getting there, we were not sure if that is really the place, ‘cos dad keep on saying that it should be another place call “Zhong Fuk” village. We were actually at the right place, but after taking a bus “Zhong Uk” village which is the closes guess to “Zhong Fuk” vilage, we were back again to “Chai Kek” village again. This time we found the right person - The Village Head, after making a few calls.

The village head introduced us to the oldest couple in the village hoping to get information if they knew my grand-uncle.

Seeing here from the right are the oldest couple in the village, in the middle is the village head, then my dad and my hubby. The boys are looking at some bugs on the floor.

We found out that they (the oldest couple) do know my grand-uncle and they have heard about our great-great-grandma is not Chinese (She should be Panama according to my grandpa). Now reassure that we are really from Hong Kong but in order for us to have our family name go under this village, we need to provide hard evidence. Dad would be really happy to do if possible, because this will means that this branch of us who have migrated Sabah do rooted somewhere.

Yum Cha

This happened right away on the first morning that we had in Hong Kong. “Yum Cha” means “drink tea”, but in another meaning “breakfast in the Chinese Style” (my own translation). Just like some of you drool over the dim sum that we ordered. (Yes, finally I can load photos from my digital camera)

Siew Mai

Zhu Chiong Fan

Beef ball and Fung Zhao

This is after when we almost done.. yummy.. and full..

Well, I didn’t take most of the photos right away before eating, that’s why some are not in the original number, The siew mai suppose to be 3 in a bowl. Anywa, enough of drooling, let’s talk something else here. Check out this Thermal labels if you need to print label on to stickers. They are offering low prices everyday.
