Happy Birthday!

Friday, October 31st, 2008

To my mom! But, a big BUT she doesn’t want us to celebrate specifically for her, some taboo thoughts la.. but anyway, we are going out for dinner tonight *GRIN* even that also can’t said we are celebrating her birthday, just giving her a treat and that’s it. Hmm.. old folks, don’t know what is she thinking.

So far, she said her day has been smooth, durian sold in good price, his grandson (little Mer) ran out to greet her this morning and hug her (Mer also hug my dad) *LOL* So she is happy today and I wish that she’ll have many more to come and continue to stay happy with her life.

Happy Birthday Lau Ma Zhi!!

Oh.. and today also is the Halloween, Happy Halloween!! BOO!!

The color red

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

It was in the news last night and got it from Yahoo! News saying “If a woman wants to drive the men wild, she might want to dress in red.”

That is exactly what happened to little Mer this morning. While I changed to a red blouse and later changed my mind, he insisted that I change back to the red blouse! Insisting till he cried! Can you imagine that, how strong his will about having me in red blouse till he refused to let me go unless I changed to that particular cloth!

After the red cloth tantrum, he gave me another one about wanting to stay at home riding his bike. That really got me some times and I was late for a minute to work. Finally after persuading him about how fun it was to be in school and that he can bring along his toy car with him, then only he wanted to get change.

So, really red got this thing on men? Well, all I know is, my boys prefer the color red than blue.

Annual concert

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Mer’s school had their annual concert cum graduation ceremony last Sunday. I didn’t expect him to be performing, I thought it would just be group singing for him. But it turns out to be real enjoyment for me and later on himself after seeing the video. *LOL* I absolutely love to see him in action with his pom-pom, it was so funny that I can hardly stand still in taking the video.

We went backstage to meet him which I hope to snap a few shot of him in his dancing attire, unfortunately the teacher changed him too fast, all I can do was to borrow the Mickey’s ears. Mer got a bit of make up on, lips stick and powder, he looks so girly.. *LOL*

I showed the video at home and Mer absolutely love to see himself on TV, so on and on he asked for it. Unfortunately I can’t get it up here.. probably due to the slow network, so I’ve got it with YouTube, most probably will move it later. The little boy besides him can do better I suppose and Mer was following the little girl in front of him. He is the one who doesn’t move much but only moving his hands with the pom-pom, no wonder why he always complaint tire when I fetch him from school *LOL*.

edited: Yup, have moved the video to photobucket instead.

The rest of the performance became secondary after seeing my boy on stage, that is how a proud parent could be huh!? The rest of the kids were cute too, they dance and sang to more than 20 tables of audience. But still, Mer is the best *LOL* (talking from a proud parent’s point of view).

I hope to see him perform more next year as I might just change his school after next year.

Happy Deepavali

Happy holiday to the rest of us!

6th year

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Today is our 6th year together as husband as wife, yes, the 6th anniversary. Happy anniversary dear.

The wish is to spend it together but then it wasn’t possible, not even online. This post came in a day late and I’ve set it to post up a day earlier on 26th itself, so that I remember.

Due to hubby, I can travel to places that I never thought of in going, the furthest is Sri Lanka and that is one that is least expected. The frequent ones are Hong Kong and China. The nearest ones are Lahad Datu and Tawau. The one with me having little Cal is Penang. Yes, those are all those places that he has worked before and now he is in China.

Sri Lanka is one that with lots of uncertainty especially with an unstable situation, having bomb scared, Tsunami visits and also those monkeys that live by the quarters. Having the confusion of talking to the Ceylonese for they said yes by swinging their head side-by-side which could be understood as “no” over here. I had the chance to tailor made 2 Saree’s tops in Colombo, and I had enjoyed those time over in Trincomalee and also learnt that if your honk is not working, you won’t be able to sell off your car! *LOL*

Yup, happy 6th anniversary and many more to come!

Have you ever..

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

You know how sometimes when you go into a shopping mall, say Giant and wanted to:

1. get things fast,

2. pay for it and

3. get out of there

Unfortunately there were lots of people all of them in trolleys of things! The worst is when those barcode scanners some how just doesn’t read the things that you’ve chosen? Frustrating huh!? Then there came those sales person who tried to promote Giant City Bank credit card! You just feel like kicking their butt huh!?

Well, fortunately I didn’t have those happened on me for item 1 to 3. But I do have those promoter keep on asking if I wanted a piece of what they are offering. No thank you! I just don’t want another credit card. Yes, the offer is pretty good, no annual fees, some percentage of rebate on things that you buy from Giant and petrol stations if you use their card. But I just don’t feel like having one, so buzz off!

So, normally I would just swing my head side to side whenever they come near me and walk faster! *grin*

Liu lian, liu lian…

That means Durian. Yummy thing that we can enjoy in the tropical country.

Dad’s durian tree has been bearing awsome durian and we get to enjoy it almost everynight for the past few day till my mom decided to sell them off in the market for good money at RM10 per KG!

I know someone will be drooling over the photo that I’m going to show here *wink*

sorry, I took the photo abit to late after everyone has wallope the rest of the fruit and left two for me!! *Grin*

Dad has tried all his mean to protect this durian tree from thiefs! Yup, we have those naughty one who came in before us and took away those durian fallen from the tree. Now that my dad already put up zinc fenches that can’t see what is in there on the ground, he can now pick all those that fallen inside the fence (at least).

I know durian got a strong smell, if you don’t like it, you’ll hate that smell and you won’t want to even go near one let alone eating it. The durian that we are having is actually those that with intense smell and sweetness (only if you like it), it is actually creamy to me. Two fruits will be enough to make me burb later and smell like durian.

I know it is being banned inside a lift and the LRT, but we ever pack it air-tight and it goes through the cargo on the flight to Hong Kong! Yup, for the sake of my sister in Hong Kong. But we definitely won’t bring it along in our luggage, that’ll get us into trouble if we do.

Handicap

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

I feel handicap without my car. This is the 2nd day after I’ve sent it to the service centre yesterday *sigh*.

Felt so confident that it will be ready this morning, so I got my dad to send us to the service centre in order the get my car. Only to find out later that it wasn’t ready, and my dad already left! Thanks to my colleague who are willing to fetch us, else I would be stranded there. Wish it will be ready soon and return to me in tip top condition.

I’m feeding them..

Books!

Yes, I’m feeding my boys books. I still read to them every night before bed time. In fact, now a day that is the only way in getting them ready for bed, even though they might still be awake after the reading time or after half an hour! That is little Mer. He whine, sang, talked and cuddle me even though big brother Cal already in dreamland and I was half asleep!

Anyway, it was a good exercise, I mean the reading part. I got them some books from the Church library and some from the library. While they were still playing their toys and it is getting late, I would say “Would you like to read some book!?” Then they would stop and start brushing their teeth, wash their feet, pee and change for bed. In less than half an hour, they are ready and waiting, sometimes they will still be playing in their bed but once I started reading the first page of the book, they would straight away sat beside me and listen quietly, well, not quite, they would ask a few questions normally while I read. And they won’t stop if I haven’t answer them!

I hope I’m cultivating this love for reading onto these two boys and they’ll still love to read when they are grown up.

Tonight’s book is: My mum goes to work by Kes Gray and David Milgrim.

Over on Sunday

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Yes, we went to the dog show after church and lunch.

Just thought of something that I should be jotting down here. The two boys followed me to the main church instead of their normal Sunday school. They just refused to stay there even when I’m going in with them. It must be from last week experience that they can stay with me. So there we go, to the main church together with a few instructions and warning that it will be boring for them and they’ll have to sit down quietly in their seats.

To me, they had been good boy, with a few noises made and one silly question “Mommy, why aren’t those jie-jie (sisters) praying?” Mer said this pointing at those teenagers behind us who didn’t shut their eyes and have their palms together while praying. Ops, whatever my answer would be, they would have heard that, so I just keep quiet. *grin*

Yup, this is the time that my 3-year-old toddler notice the different between some people, fat, short, didn’t do what we normally do, didn’t walk how we normally walk, or didn’t express what we normally would express in our faces.

Today my sister sent me this jokes about “Kids in Church”, thought I would jot down two of them here:

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.
The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.

Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.

‘If Jesus were sitting here, He would say,
‘Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.’
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said,
‘ Ryan , you be Jesus  !’

A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand.
‘Daddy, what happened to him?’ the son asked.

‘He died and went to Heaven,’ the Dad replied.

The boy thought a moment and then said,
‘Did God throw him back down?’

We went to the Olde Shop (Kopitiam) in City Mall to have our lunch, little do I know that they don’t like their toast and popiah. So I had to wobble them all down by myself and ordered another plate of Udon. Yet these two boys finished that plate by themselves but with me feeding them. I just can’t get them sit on their place and finished it, instead they were all walking around on and off the chair, to the mirror near to the toilet, to the entrance of the kitchen etc. Still, I’m gladful that at least they finished that plate of Udon. Cal call it the “big muscle noodle”, as it is fat.

Well, about the dog show, it was a new thing to me, first time went to such event and we went through the area where they kept all the dogs. Nothing so fascinating about it except the husky (the snow dog) that we saw since I’ve a stroller to push, a toddler to care even though my niece was with me. Further more, later on little Mer slept in the stroller. So we went home earlier than planned. I was glad for after that it was raining cats and dogs. That basically sums up my Sunday’s morning and noon hours.
